Hey everyone! Wanted to suggest that those dealing with panic disorder, check out That Anxiety Guy’s website and podcasts which I listen to daily, which he regularly posts on thatanxietyguy.com youtube.com/ThatAnxietyGuy , you can find his podcast on your podcast App that your smartphone comes with, I personally like the podcast and YouTube videos, because listening helps me engage better instead of reading . I will tell you that he speaks the hard unpleasant truth and makes you take hard look at what you’re doing to recover from this, but it’s something we all need, and to stop coddling ourselves and being coddled by other whether in your personal life or forums. Because coddling only makes your world smaller and smaller until all you can do is look outside your window or have to have a safe person with you everywhere you go because you no longer think you’re the safe person and can’t leave the house which is not okay AT ALL, and no one should live like that. He gives great tips on how to do exposure therapy the right way, and goes into detail about everything. If anyone has questions or wants to talk I’m all ears!!

Also check out the link here it talks about the Amygdala which is the biggest role in panic attacks and fear, and how to reverse it using neuroplasticity

I’m not a fan but if he helps you I’m glad.

Just curious what about his teaching do you not like?

It’s his presentation. *He* and others who talk like him in disjointed sentences, backtracking, and the tangential sequences throw me off. He makes me nervous when I wasn’t. I have nothing against him and I’m sure he helps plenty of people. I don’t think I’d call what he says his ‘teaching’. He’s not a guru. He’s just getting out the same message and that’s great. If people bond with him that’s a good thing. I don’t dislike the man at all.

I can see that, he’s definitely a to the point guy and says it himself that he can come across a little rigid, but from my view it’s how some people need it as maybe a wake up call for them personally. So yeah maybe not “teaching” but advice and different ways of seeing it. I mean he’s recovered from it so he has the right idea. But I understand what you’re saying :)

Everybody has a style they can get help from. You’re absolutely right. He’s not my style but half my therapists have missed that boat too. Just find someone who is and hang on.

There’s always something to be said for others willing to help and be kind.

Hi NikeYrk, thanks for sharing your post about the Anxiety Guy.

He was one of us at the beginning who started branching off when

members were helped by his advice and his own experience in dealing

with Anxiety. He later went on YouTube and has helped many people.

We each are helped by different methods. Whatever works is the right

thing for you. I hope your post allows newbies to give him a listen. It

may just change the way they think. :) xx
