New dose

Hi everyone

I am now taking a higher dose of Venlafaxine and so far so good. I don’t see anything looming in the back of my mind that burdened me before. I’m going to let it do it’s job and hopefully continue helping me. I really don’t like the dark place I find myself in when it stops. Again, I really love the support we give each other here. I feel blessed to have found it. I’m unable to be here every day but will always pray for everyone to find the solutions you deserve.

God bless

I loved venlafaxine but had to quit because it caused me VERY high blood pressure, even at a low dose. Hope it makes you as functionally feel-good as it did for me! 😊

Oh no! I’m sorry. Yeah, it has worked very well for me. I did, however, have to double the dose because it stopped being as effective. I’m not sure if they all work that way or... Take care!

Hi

Venlafaxine has been amazing for me as well.

I am now on 187.5 mg after being on it for two years. How long did it take before you needed to double your dose and what are you on now if you don't mind my asking.

I always keep wondering if I should increase again because although I am doing very well I can feel a bit out of sorts in the mornings. That quickly goes but breathlessness can linger and is a bit wearing. Other than that I feel very good and am more sociable than even before I was ill.

Had you taken anything before Venlafaxine and if so how did it compare? It is the only one I have ever taken and I was given it for GAD and Depression which came in suddenly after a life trauma 2 years ago.

Thanks for any advice or information you can give.

Kim

I’m taking 150 mg of Venlafaxine. Ive taken it for almost a year before the increase. I take it with Bupropion. Together I feel my anxiety is better controlled.

I was originally diagnosed with Agoraphobia about 20 years ago and was taking Paxil. It was okay for quite a few years, but It made me tired and seemed to take over a year for my body to adjust. If I missed a dose I’d have dizzy spells and my eyes would spasm making me have to adjust my site. Does that make sense?

As for you, I was wondering if maybe your dosage was too high? Although, you did say it’s been two years. You mentioned feeling breathless and out of sorts. Might mention that to your doctor anyway.

I don’t mind sharing at all so if I can help I’m happy to.

Take care!

I loved being on Venlafaxine, even though over the 3 years I was on it the dose went up to 225mg. I had no side effects and on the whole found it to be a very effective antidepressant.

All the time you can focus on the positives in life then the drug is clearly doing it's job so just embrace these good times and enjoy life.

Long may it continue x
