Went to Dr to get results of heart trace and blood pressure. Outcome not got full results from hospital so waste of my time.
However he said why was I breath ing like that put it down to the hot weather. He listened to my chest said he could hear crackling and back on yet more antibiotics and steriods. Worried I have lost more lung function as this is second lot of antibiotics in just over a week.
Scared as dont know how it works...I didn't even know I had a slight temperature. Had enough.
Hi Emily the hot weather does affect us copders and I am finding it hard at the moment and I am only mild. Keep as cool as you can and avoid the hottest part of the day if you can. You also sound like you have a chest infection as your dr has given you ab's. It shouldn't really affect your lung function long term as you have sought treatment for it quickly which is what you have to do. It's leaving them too long which causes the damage.
See if your doctor will give you some rescue meds as lots will. I have them and they comprise of ab's and steroids. Then you can start them immediately and not have to wait for a drs appointment or for the weekend to be over.
Take it easy for the next few days and rest and you will soon be up and about again. x
Also look at it this way - ok it's a real b**** having anything wrong at all but there are so many things which are much worse such as heart issues or cancer. Try and be happy that if you have to have something it's not life threatening at your stage and not for many years to come (if ever).
I didn't even know I had temperature he said to be on safe side...hate this I didn't know I wasn't well. And sorry this is a death sentence to me...waiting to disintegrate
You’ve got a little infection Emily...take your a.bs has the dr give you amoxicillin?my rescue meds are doxycycline then if I’m still struggling I get amoxicillin you will feel terrible if you’re crackling its the infection so it will get better soon
Just felt slightly more breathless thought heat caused it...he said my inhalers may need looking at told me to phone respiratory nurse which I did ...they coming out to see me..Monday, she said " it does get worse over time but you can live well with copd"
Emiy I sure wish there was some thing I could do to help you-I wish I was there to just talk but im sure with your kids and all your friends you have plenty of people to talk to but I do hope you get to feeling better soon, I really do care about you!
What if your house falls down? What if the sky falls in? What if you get run over by a bus tomorrow? These are unreasonable fears just like you thinking you are going to on long term oxygen next year and bed bound.
In other words it's not going to happen. But if you are inisistent it is then it is more likely. You can worry yourself to becoming an invalid and you are heading that way now. x
