Painful stress

I watched the insurrection live as it unfolded. It was horrible. Will not ever forget. I am hit with sadness every so often. Since then my jaw muscle is tight and really painful. This happens sometimes when I am stressed but not for more that a day and now it is almost a week. It is like a muscle behind my ear is pinched and when it hurts I can’t think of anything else. I take ibuprofen two times a day but it isn’t working as well now. No question...more of a need to say it.

Hi. Have you tried Vicks? Maybe try to rub it behind your ears and/or along your jawline. I hope that would help soothing you a bit. Best wishes xxx

Tiger balm. It feels good but it doesn’t really make the pain go away.

It can be anything when it comes to stress 🤦‍♀️ we try to relieve a little bit at the moment. I hope your doctor can find out exactly the cause.

Thanks! Haven’t gone yet. If it is just stress I don’t think there is anything she can do so why bother. If it doesn’t end I will go. Trying different things like yoga and breathing and walking. I just want this nightmare to end!

That is wonderful you do yoga, breathing and walking. Maybe incorporate diet changing. Sometimes we didn’t even know our body is allergic to certain things and they shift everything around. Hope you feel better soon. 🧘🏻‍♀️🕉🙏xx

I have a good diet except for slipping which isn’t a factor right now. I have friends that have been deeply affected the last four years and now we are on the last death throws. Then throw in the pandemic which tanked my energy. I think watching it unfold last week broke me. I mean the reporter was hiding and there were guns in and out of the camera and then she went dark. I had no idea who those guns belonged to. It feels like 9/11 except they are domestic. I wasn’t there of course but still it is a lot.

I have TMJ cause I grind my teeth. Have made a concentrated effort to stop when I am awake. It helped greatly. I catch myself attempting to grind upon waking and working to catch it when I do. It can feel like the worst earache in the world. Saw a specialist for it and was recommended several options for treatment, but my regimen is working so far. When it stops working, I’ll be open to wearing a mouthpiece at night. But I don’t need another deterrent right now to keep me from sleeping. A couple days of ibuprofen helps the inflammation and pain. Tylenol does absolutely nothing. Hope this helps. All is not lost. Good luck. ❤️🏄‍♀️

Thanks for replying …this happens sometimes for a day once or twice a year. Normally I could take a nap and be fine. It is a really sharp pain. I don’t grind on a regular basis. At one point I did back when my career was much more stressed. I tried a mouth piece. It was horrible. Cost a lot too. The last two dentists haven’t seen evidence of recent grinding. One dentist said massage which I do but it makes it worse if I hit that muscle. I think this truly stressed based…just how my body reacts.

Tylenol does nothing for muscles. Ibuprofen reduces inflammation and stops the pain temporarily. I don’t think twice a day for a long time is good for you. I may be becoming tolerant.

I see you are already well informed/experienced with your situation. Nothing I can add other than I wish there was something better for inflammation without the side effects of ibuprofen. I already take a lightweight blood thinner. When combined with even small intermittent doses of ibuprofen, hematomas pop up..can’t win for losing. I hope you can reduce your stress/pain level....❤️🏄‍♀️

Thanks, yea I mostly just needed to get it out. I just figure out how to survive this stressful time. I realize there are members who think it is over blown or whatever but maybe they don’t have people in their lives who would be targets or maybe they don’t believe the fbi. Idk.
