Babbling coworkers

Does anybody besides me get distracted and annoyed when people around them babble about stupid things all day long?

The people where I work do this, and some days it bothers me more than on other days. I wish I could just yell, “STFU!”

If I didn’t have a good pair of headphones, I’d never get any work done at all.

I had four kids, then fostered another. I can tune it all out.

It’s probably a good thing I didn’t have kids.

When I was in labor with the first a nurse told me that there was no pain like the pain a rebellious child can inflict. She was right.

My condolences.

Co workers that babble need more work to do. Report them. 😂😂😂

Could you ask to be moved some place more quiet? Your job may arrange that for you if the chattering and loud noises are affecting your ability to concentrate.

I don’t think that’s possible. There just isn’t enough space, and what we have isn’t well organized.

On the whole I like my coworkers - they are nice people. I’ve just got this weird little quirk that too much idle chatter really gets on my nerves. I know it’s me, not them.

I understand. I have that same quirk especially when I am trying to concentrate... other people's small talk can really disrupt that. Good thing for headphones.

I'd say it happens about 50% of the time in my office. Unless its related to projects I'm working on I don't talk to the people around me. I'm not in a casual social mood when I'm at work, just want to get the stuff done that I need to and leave. I also need to wear headphones in order to cancel out the loud people around me.

Yesssssss!!!! I just want some people to shut up!!!! They talk about issues and sometimes they relate to my life or people in my life and they have no idea that some of the things their saying could be a situation I’m going through!! Then they talk about bs like what colors needed for a new rug etc. when I’m worried about how I’m keeping the lights on. Guess it’s my problem

Not everyone is good at small talk, so try not to worry about it. x

It happens in my office too. I put my headphones in

I think everyone can relate to that situation. It sounds like you are getting a real workout in patience.

I'm retired now TG, there use to be a woman that made NO Sense, she went on and on. I told another co-worker that I was going to Shoot myself if she didn't STOP. Finally I could NOT take it Anymore!!! I choose my words Carefully and told her with a Firm Voice... that she was Misinformed ( I had my facts ready) to Please do your homework. That was that.

Lordy, YES! It's the major thing I dread about going back to work, after a hiatus to move to another state.

Oh Absolutely. I am in an office down the hall from the main sales office. Two girls in there and its blah blah blah all day long..and it carries right into my office. I can even shut the door and still hear them and be distracted. REALLY grates on my nerves all the time. UGH!

I honestly want to overturn tables and shout, “I can’t f*cking fathom how you’re a member of the most advanced species on this planet, let alone somebody hired you! Who were the other applicants? A ventriloquist dummy? A clown with chainsaws for hands?”

Yes! Invested in nice comfy headphones that can be worn all day long. I wish they would just babble. Most of the time they're complaining about everyone and everything. Too much negativity.

I love my foam ear buds. Sometimes my chatty husband gets the ear bud treatment. More people need to become fluent in silence.

You might just be talking about the actual noise. Not sure. Here is how I feel at work at times. Usually when Im in a bad mood phase. (I have a mood disorder, Im told) I feel they are just so fake! Its like watching their Facebook in person. Attention? Validation? No idea but it’s annoying. I sometimes wanna yell out and tell them how stupid they sound sometimes.

In school people will always babble I either give them a death stare or turn up my headphones really loud.

Try working with people that just shout -'WOOP' at each other (I work nights so it doesn't matter as no customers around but such a stupid thing)
