Does anyone else struggle with weight loss when they are feeling down?
I’ve found that when my mood is low it doesn’t matter how good I am about counting calories the weight either stalls or starts to creep up.
I’ve battled with my weight since childhood. I ballooned up to 320lbs (I’m only 5’3) and 10 years ago I had weight loss surgery. I dropped about 120 lbs and kept it off for 4 years. Then I made a lifestyle change and dropped another 50. I was happy. Then life happened I got back with my boyfriend and I put 30 lbs back on in the couple years that followed. Earlier this year I found myself at 182 lbs. I’ve been eating really well and I’ve dropped 22 lbs but it’s coming off slow. And I find that when my mood isn’t good the scale doesn’t budge.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any tips?

If you are on antidepressants , those will block any attempt at weight loss.
Hello Gettingthere
182lb is a bit heavy for your height.
160lb now! Bet you look gorgeous.
Exercise combined with healthy eating is a good tip to help shift weight and tone up. Even if you just start with a lot more walking than you are used to. Then move up to brisk walking and get your heart pumping. It helps with weight loss...especially on one’s waist. It also increases happiness hormones. You probably know all this.
Have you ever enjoyed any sports while you were growing up?
Swimming?
Aqua aerobics?
Racquet sports?
Team sports?

Look for beginners classes if you feel self conscious. Most others will feel the same as you and very pleased with themselves for making the effort and so will you.
I used to play squash when I was your age and loved thwacking that little ball. Okay so I was always near the bottom of the league. Who cares?
I comfort eat when I’m low to fill the void inside. I recognise and acknowledge what I’m doing and rein it in...or not sometimes.
