I have been social media (Instagram) free for the past three days and I have to say I feel it’s really affecting my mood. I feel a bit better. Social media is great for somethings but without it, there’s nothing to compare our own lives to. Now I know most people only post the good on their pages and never the lows but even still I’ve felt so much lighter and a sense of relief not logging on.
It’s worth a try for a few days or even just one!

Anxiety 59...interesting screen name. You seem so happy. Has medication turned your life around? I am still searching for the right one.

My screen name is just a part of who I am and what I deal with...it's no where near all of me...I'm all about feeding the positive into my mind , and just being positive, better than being negative...I prefer to focus on the positive in life! Looking for the happy and doing a whole lot of work on myself...it can be done...I'm proof of it...not that it's always peaches and cream..with the ups come the downs and I accept it and deal with it...nobody ever said it was going to be easy....
I've been on medicine for years but you still have to put a whole lot of work into yourself...there's no magic pill.....once again feeding as much positive into your mind is so very helpful and I let my anxiety know who's the boss....
Don't ever give up on yourself....keep fighting the good fight for you..you're special..there's only one you!

I love it! Wish I could be like you! I just started my 3rd try at meds. Nothing has worked so far and I am getting discouraged. I am 61 and never needed meds until trauma entered my life 2 years ago. I am struggling big time with past mistakes that I am feeling guilty about. Have ocd and manic depression. Not seeing much light at the end of my tunnel. Thanks for your positivity..,,

I'm happy you love it...get this I'm 61 and have been dealing with this for 32 years..there's hope for you...keep trying and don't give up on yourself.
The past is over...forgive yourself..who doesn't make mistakes, no one that's who!
I
wish for you peace of mind....

Thank you. You are a brave lady. 32 years is a long time. I hurt someone I love during a manic period... apologized but can’t quite get over it all. I need to as there is no other alternative...well there is but it’s not good. I barely sleep now and have lost much of my love for life. Hoping the latest meds help. Thanks again for your positivity.

Good for you taking a break. My analogy is like giving up chocolate (since I’m a chocoholic).
As for Social Media, I got to a point that it was so addictive, I deleted everything... Facebook, Twitter, you name it... with exception to this site since it’s so supportive and nurturing.
I had “374” friends on FB. Probably 15 or so I’ve met in real life (family and some actual friends). As for the rest, electronic friends don’t do it for me. Besides most if their posts are ‘Look how happy I am’ when in actuality I think, who’s the real person behind the post and what are there struggles... that they never post.
As for making friends I’ve decided to park the 21st century and stick to the 20th century... making friends in person.
Anyway, good luck with your break and your awareness.
