Hi guys I’m really frightened I know this sounds silly but I’ve done nothing today mainly because I’m unemployed and had nothing to do but I just feel awful physically and I don’t know why like my muscles feel tight I have a headache dry mouth I just don’t understand why even when I’ve got nothing to do I don’t go for a run or anything I just stay in and watch tv I’ve always been lazy but I just don’t know what’s wrong with me and it’s causing a huge amount of anxiety feeling like I’ve done nothing with my life I know I’m only 21 but I do want to be a comedian but now everything I think about it makes me feel out off and now I feel sick ugh I just dunno

A doctor Stephen Ilardi spells it out on his Ted talk about his book the Depression Cure. He boils if down to lifestyle and his program Therapeutic Lifestyle Change addresses everything from getting enough sunlight to getting enough quality sleep. I've been putting TLC to work in my life and its showing results. You sound like you're in the early stage of depression. That is the time to act don't wait for your doctor to tell you you just won't believe them anyway. You need it explained in a way that'll resonate. Don't wait check him out and let me know what you think.

I agree with Biker4life - it seems you are still in the early phase of depression and thus it will be much going for you to turn things around.

First thing to realise is that the anxiety you are feeling is normal and you should not chastise yourself about the state of your life. Make small changes to your day that will bring about a recovery and it will go away.

If comedy is your thing, you could use this experience to create an act about it. Of course do it in such a way that people will laugh with you and not at you.

Hello it's good that you are able to acknowledge that something is off so far your doing great acknowledgement is the biggest part of the battle. When you're watching TV is it because what you're watching is good or do you find yourself just staring at it in a day's....TV can be really additive and having freedom to watch as much as you want can give you the after this one syndrome that's when you say to yourself after this show or movie goes off I'm going to go do something else only for you to get a preview of what's coming up next and it's usually just as good or better than what you've just watched. For muscle tightness taking a warm bath or shower can help loosen your muscles.... there's a rub called Tiger Balm it smells something like Bengay but it works immediately they sale it at Walmart you can even order online.....What's your diet been like drinking lots of water is important. Smoking, eating a lot of starchy foods, constipation, lack of water and eating salty foods are some general things that cause head aches, if it not any of the generals it would be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. Society has set this standard that to be somebody you have to be doing something all the time and trying to live up to this standard bring many people into depression....as your relaxing watching TV keep a pen and a note pad next to you try working on some comedy material...you also need to create a strategy of how you like to spend your day understand it's okay to relax....if it has been coming to your mind that a walk or run would be good for you, your not going to be able to wait until you feel like doing it....its just like watching TV once you get started you'll find yourself getting involved in what you're doing... Feelings are tricky sometimes it's better to look at the benefits of doing something instead of whether you feel like doing it. I hope this helps stay blessed.

Thank you for your reply it’s been very helpful yes my diet is not the best but I’m working on it as I’ve been to my doctor who found nothing wrong in a blood test other than a folate deficiency which is just dusk to not eating enough greens. And well I tend to enjoy what I’m watching as it’s usually a comedy on Netflix or on tv so yeah I would say I do I think I just worry that because of this health anxiety I’ll never become what I want to be you know?

I get it....it gets better with experience.... study your symptoms find out what your triggers are creat strategies to manage therapy counseling helps as well there is an app called Faith Counseling if a monthly fee for the service but once you click on you don't think counseling is for you they'll offer you a free 7 day trail period it offers video, phone or text sessions anytime you need to talk to a counselor it has a lot of options as far as what kind of counselor and counseling you'd like. If after the 7day you'd like to continue sessions they offer financial aid discount where they ask a series of questions and and the offer discount based on the answers at 40%off I'd think its like $156/month
