Hi, I've been reading about Alpha Stim and how it helps with anxiety and depression. Has anyone used one of these and if so how helpful was it?

Thanks

I have not, but I’m intrigued 🙂

Just looked on EBay and the device is $580 odd dollars. Bit expensive. Spose if it works and you can afford it why not. I haven’t anything about this product so can’t help as to whether it works or not.

I actually pondered this one but the doctors I see weren't aware of it and gave the usual..."It's probably BS, but give me info on it and I'll look into it." I don't know if they're just firm believes in medicine since it's their primary focus or just the "snake oil" aspect of anxiety. The most important aspect, in my eyes, is the cost and whether it works. Much like the Fisher-Wallace device, I wish I had one to try. The greatest advice I can give on these is to find a therapist who utilizes the device (some of them do) and see if it's worth the price to personally own one. Insurance will not cover it and it also, I believe, needs a Rx written for it. I would love to see one of these devices be what we've all been waiting for, but I haven't heard from anyone myself, so I'll follow this curiously.

Hi - just came onto this forum (I'm usually over on the Atrial Fibrillation page) and saw this. I just borrowed the Alpha-Stim from a naturopathic doctor who was recommended to me. She's letting me use it for a week to see if it provides any anxiety relief for me. Two days so far, not sure it's helping, but I'm told that although some people feel results right away, it can take a few weeks for others (and doesn't help everyone). I'll let you know. BTW, I love my uke, too. Do you know the great Brooklyn band, The Ukuladies? Your name put me in mind of them...

Hi ukulelelady, my psychiatrist uses this in his office for patients who either will

not take medication or are not getting the results in what they are on. He said

it takes a few sessions for most and yet there are some that seem to respond

more quickly. I asked what the percentage of success was and he said about 60%

feel it helped. I've never had a need to use it. xx
