Those of you who experience migraines, what helps the most? I get the ones where you lose your vision. I hate them and always think it's going to kill me. Any advice on beating it before it comes?

Hi dbeck, when I use to get frequent Migraines, I noticed that when I was

dehydrated they tended to make their appearance. Also to avoid MSG which

is hidden under "natural flavoring" in many frozen products.

Once the migraine makes it's appearance the best thing to do is find that

quiet dark cool place and call it a day. At that time, Darvocet was around. My

neurologist would have me take a Darvocet, a cup of coffee and a Xanax.

I'd retreat to my room with an ice pak on my head and listen to a relaxation

tape. As time went by, I was actually able to work while having a migraine,

using the same remedy. Because I didn't worry about it and believed in the

medications and coffee helping me.

I hope you find what works best for you. They are mind boggling. xx

I usually get double vision. I think it may have been my anxiety. Some nights it gets so bad I cant process a single thought. Tonight is one of those nights. Does this ever happen to you?

I see things on the ceiling and walls. Ocular migraines.

I get that even when I don't have headaches. Not really

double vision. Migraines play on the blood vessels of the head

causing these phenomena's Always ask your doctor and/or

have your eyes checked. I'm so sorry you are in pain tonight. xx

Hi. I empathize with you. Migraines are horrendous! It seems like you are getting migraines with an aura. Auras are sometimes visual symptoms of a migraine. You start seeing blindspots or not see at all.

Once my migraines start, all I have been able to do is go to urgent care for a pain relieving shot and lay down in a quiet, dark room until it subsides. I'm not sure why migraines happen. For me though, I have recognized a pattern. Anxiety and stress not only deprive me of sleep, but they also bring the migraines.

When I can control the stress and anxiety, I seem to prevent the migraines. However, remember that migraines can also happen because of other physical medical issues. Hope this helps out a little, or kept you entertained. Good luck.
