Anxiety- depression medication

Hi All

I have just joined the group. I suffer with anxiety and depression. I'm currently on mirtazapine 30mg. They have only increased the dose 4 days ago and I feel worse. Has anyone had success with medication? Thank you all. Xxxx

Hi Kye, From my experience, Mirtazepine works better if taken at night to take advantage of it's sedating properties and you don't feel the side effects so much.

Thank you , I've been on it since Feb at 15mg nightly, it never has sedated me, my sleep has always been choppy since being on it and it only increases my appetite just after I take it. They have upped my dose last Friday and now I have to take sleeping tablets until it kicks in again my pysciatrist says. I've told her I feel worse.

Sorry that it's not working for you at the moment. The thing to remember is that each person will react differently to the same medication at different doses. If Mirtazepine for sleep is not for you, remember there is a lot of other things to try, even non-prescription items which you might like to discuss with your friendly pharmacist in a medication review.
