Sertraline and 'the shakes'..

Hi guys, quick question - can sertraline give you the 'shakes', when you first start?

I started on them yesterday and I'm taking 25mg a day, in mornings.

Check side effects on an internet search.. When I started treatment the side effects I felt were depression, anxiety, and irritablility. It's different for everyone. Im 6 weeks in Im feeling really good w no side effects.

Hang in there. Give it time. And call your Dr just in case.

My dose was just increased from 50mg to 75mg and I'm finding that I have involuntary muscle contractions while waking up or trying to go to sleep... I'm not sure if that qualifies as 'the shakes' or not... can you describe your sensations with a little more detail?

By 'shakes', I mean that my arms and legs, up my spine/back are very quivery and shaking. Almost like I have a fever (I don't).

I've noticed that I've been clenching my jaw since starting them too! The little I've read since starting suggest these are side effects but always prefer to hear personal experience.

Ah. Thanks for clarifying. Yes - these are known side effects. I have some other ones but not these in particular.
