Not too bad

Yesterday was my birthday. Had anxiety on and off at work. Then my boyfriend took me to Cheesecake Factory... and I actually enjoyed myself. I was anxious in the car as always. Anxious when we first sat down by eventually calmed myself down being distracted with how silly he was being.

Today wasn’t so bad either.

The doctor prescribed me 50,000 iu Vitamin D supplements because I found out I have a vitamin d deficiency. But I’m nervous about taking it. Always get anxiety about taking something new... :/

Belated Happy Birthday vp_tx210! Best wishes in the coming year.

Sounds like you had a good evening of celebration. Cheesecake Factory,

one of my favorites :)

You did very well in getting through the initial anxiety of riding in the car

and first getting into the restaurant. Well done :) Isn't it interesting in

how distraction allowed you to enjoy the evening. That usually does the

trick where ever you may be.

Now you have a different issue that tends to cause anxiety among us and that

is starting a new medication. I have been on 50,000 units of Vit D several times

with no ill side effects. I always took it with food. I assume your doctor prescribed

it for once a week. Make sure you take it on the same day weekly. Keep in touch

with your doctor if you feel any ill effects, which you shouldn't.

A little thing I do when starting a new medication is to take it the first time when someone

is around. Let them know you are starting a new med, write down the name and dose of

the drug and the time you took it. Someone once told me that Vit D is not only for your

bones but can actually help with anxiety. Good Luck vp :) xx

I completely understand how you feel about being anxious when taking new meds. I’m the same way. I just took magnesium and calcium for the first time and am currently feeling anxious about it. I’m just praying the pros outweigh the cons

Eva, first of all, congratulations on taking that first step in feeling better.

I know that took courage but you did it. I think you will do just fine on

magnesium and calcium. The thing in taking new meds is to focus on the

good it can do for you. It's very important to work with the new meds and

not fight it. Always check in with your doctor if you don't feel comfortable. :) xx
