I've been thinking a lot about how my struggles with mental health have shaped me as a person, have made me stronger, and have helped me to have deeper empathy for others. I'm wondering: what are some positive things you have gotten out of your struggles, and how do you hope to use that to be a source of good in the world?

I would say that my struggle with mental illness (depression and generalized anxiety disorder) has definitely given me a greater level of empathy for others too. It's only in the last year that I've tried to be more open about my life-long struggles with these illnesses. For myself, and also in the hope that talking about it might make someone else feel less alone.
I can definitely say that this journey has made me a better person. I'm not so oblivious to things that are right in front of me. I have learned to appreciate things like good energy and vibes, the small things, and being more grateful. And I too now have more compassion. It's funny you asked what we are doing differently on our journey as we overcome our struggles, I have decided to start a new broadcast endeavor that discuss anxiety and the fear of fate. It's just another platform so that I can actually show my face as I share my journey with many out there who just want to know they are not alone. Glad yo know you are conquering your journey and want to help others along the way. I'd like to share my broadcast endeavor with you. Check it out if you can. 😊 I wish us the best.
What a great question!
I have found that life is a journey. Life is never just about the mountaintop experiences, it is filled with valley experiences, too. I ask myself two questions when faced with a struggle. These questions, I learned from Dr. Charles Stanley: “What is it, Lord, that You want me to see in this situation? And, “ How is it that You would want me to respond?”
I have found that by using these two questions they help me to keep the proper perspective. And typically, that perspective is, “it is not about me.” When I keep the Lord as my guide, He helps me to find the answers, and to be able to share those answers and experiences with others. This has been instrumental in helping to shape my life. Thanks for asking the question.
