I Know That Might Sound A Little Nuts But, I Really Think There Is An Odd Connection. I "Personally", Whenever I Eat ANY Solid Food, Have Tightness In My Throat, Bloating. & A Faster Heart Rate. I Realize, WOW ! This Is An Increase In Anxiety !* Then It Takes An Hour or/ Two Before It Calms Down.... Am I Alone In This ?*

Thanks.....

Sounds like maybe it could be a gastrointestinal issue making you feel this way.

I've Been Seeing The Stomach Doc. I've Had CT Scans & He Looked Down Into My Stomach With The Camera. He Said I Had A Half Healed Ulcer & Navel Hernia. The Only Thing Left Is To Ram The Ole' Hose & Camera Up The Butt..[ LOL ]..But It's Just Routine Since I Last Had It Done 10 Years Ago & Not Even 1 Polyp Was Found. He Says He Sees No Real Reason For It. [ the anxiety ]... But ! He Also Said The Hernia Couldn't Cause Any Pain & I "Know" He's Wrong On That One ! BUT ? I Did Find This Little Info :

Although psychological problems like anxiety don’t cause the digestive disorder, people with IBS may be more sensitive to emotional troubles.

Stress and anxiety may make the mind more aware of spasms in the colon.

IBS may be triggered by the immune system, which is affected by stress.

Thanks Friend~*

I have found that if I eat anything with high fructose corn syrup or foods in general with a high amount of sugar in it I will have more anxiety and the fast heart rate. The higher the amount of sugar and/or HFCS the longer the period will last. There is definitely a correspondence of what you eat and your moods. I have watched this for years. Even the students I teach who are ADHD as well as with anxiety and depression. The ones who eat a better diet are controlled better than the ones who eat just high sugar foods. Even with the meds. Meds can only do so much but having a good diet will also help things. I would say start looking at the ingredients of the foods you are eating. Also what ChicagoGirl1961 said about it being gastro issue should be looked at as well. I have lived with gastro issues since most of my life as have been the anxiety, depression, and ADD issues. I find if I eat a diet of just meat, fruits, and vegetables I do much better, mood wise and stomach issues. I really feel there is a connection between it all.
