I have been looking online for community forums regarding depression and anxiety which I suffer from, want some insight from others to how they handle everything, I have been seperated from my partner for many year, all my children have grown up now all in different parts of the country and the world,

Everyone handles things differently, lots of people just get through as best they can. Are you completely alone? I'm sure if you have someone to turn to, to rely on it must be a massive help. I only say that because I know a couple of people who have that and they are so much better off than I am. Whilst you are in the throes of depression you are alone but as you emerge slightly if there's someone there it must help you. I've just joined this as I feel strangers are my only option. The best we can do is get out there and try and meet people that's the hope. Best wishes to you.

thank you for your reply, yes I am pretty much alone these days, for years had a house full of kids and their friends everyday but now nothing. been this way for a couple of years now kind of use to it but when I have a bout of depression I long for the good old days when life was much fuller and it took my mind of my lows, never thought I would end up lost and alone like I am now

In my experience it helps me to get out and do something to get your mind off things go for a walk do something with a friend. I know some days you don't want to but that is when you need to the most.
