I am in need of some words of encouragement today.
I have had a rough weekend after spending it in the ER. Nothing horrible, just complications with a medication after having my molars pulled. I am however now experiencing some extreme anxiety. I am feeling better but for some reason I have a nervous feeling in my stomach which I cannot get rid of. I’ve been off work for over a week which I’m pretty sure is not helping things (idle hands I guess?) and my father just began cancer treatment today so that is not helping matters either. I should note that he is fine, and is in good hands, however I’m sure you can understand why I’d be feeling like this. I’ve had this nervous feeling for about a week now and I am not sure why. It’s so hard to shake sometimes but I can’t help it, it just happens!
I hope someone can understand where I’m coming from or ways I can relieve the tension I am feeling.
Thank you all and I hope you have a blessed new year !

I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough weekend. It's good that you did not have any serious medical issues. In my opinion, anxiety strikes with no warning. Panic attacks really hit me the hardest when I'm under a lot of stress. For tension relief I drink herbal teas, do deep breathing exercise, get A LOT of rest, take warm baths, and stretch.
Yes! That sounds like it would help a lot. An issue I personally have is that when I’m trying to relax is when I feel most panicked. It’s almost like my body won’t let me rest sometimes which is quite annoying have you experienced that?
That's happened to me so many times. I was confused at first because my body refused to calm down. I had an issue relaxing because my body was sooooooo wound up. It's like I have to relieve stress day by day and not let it build back up.
That’s exactly it. My problem today for instance was that I woke up stressed! Personally I think it was because I’d been in such a rough place over the weekend it’s just left over tension.
I’m so glad to hear you can find relief in the day to day
You're not alone 🙂. My body is always kind of tense in the morning. I'll just start pampering myself and deep breathing. It's really a day by day process.
It sounds like a buildup of multiple stressful situations. When the nervous system is excited, it can take days or weeks to come back down. Be kind to yourself and do things that you normally find relaxing. Find some funny tv shows to watch or read a book that you enjoy. Eventually your body will realize everything is okay and you’ll notice that you start gradually feeling better.
We have all been there! Wishing you strength and self love as you take care of yourself.
