After bad experience with Zoloft and Prozac, I have decided too try behavior therapy. Pharmaceuticals may work for some, but I am doing much better without, and I also learned that withdrawal may be the worst part. I understand that my Dr. Stopped Zoloft abruptly when switching to Prozac, and maybe the transition should have been managed differently, but I'm glad to be drug free--almost; I'm told that the low dose of nortriptyline prescribed for headache can be stopped without withdrawal symptoms and that may be helping my depression, as well.
I am also learning a new piece from my behavioral therapist. He thinks my anxiety symptoms may be helped with dietary changes, and that they may be caused by low blood sugar related to being insulin resistant. I am following up on that; will keep everyone posted.

Good! I had the same experience, even though I only had one drug and at very low dose. I was on 10mg of Citalopram for only a few months and felt much better once off it. It did give my nerves time to repair themselves though I must say, so in the end I'm glad I bit the bullet and tried them out.
Like you, I also believe my symptoms are largely related to diet (and gut). I think a large part of my anxiety stems from trapped air in the rib cage area which feels like heart pain (even though I know it's not..."what if THIS TIME, it IS?!"). I also have a general feeling of slight fatigue, weakness, lethargy, headache/brain fog when stuff is going on with digestion.
Would love to know more about the changes he's suggesting and how they are working for you.
