I know it sounds odd to want to cry, or find some sort of emotional release. My Depression ha's appeared again, and as I lay here, I'm thinking to myself. I wish I could cry, feel something that might make me react in sone way. I've had this feeling for a weeks and now the numbness might being taking over. Thoughts? Experiences?

Hi, It shouldn't feel odd of the need to cry. I mean everyone has cried before if you need to cry to let out all of your emotions 1) there is nothing stopping you 2) whatever your going through I hope you get better| and | 3) Have a good day :)

I had very good release from depression when I argued seriously with someone I hated. I really learned to love people I hste. I am thankful they are here so I can just let my charge go. After felt super pleasant.

Also another release is just doing something physical like boxing intensely.

Crying is not human necessity. Its one of many, many forms we manifest unpleasant energy/flush bad chemicals from our brain.

I also watched Eliott Hulse and he is proponent of screaming. It probably works too. I think a choir is an alternative.

Hope you are successful releasing your energy :)

Hi Shanm2. You needn't think that sounds odd. Struggled with the same problem for a couple of years and can totally relate to you. What has helped me is watching films where something sad happens, because after shedding those first tears thanks to the sad scene it becomes easier to vent out the depressive stuff going on inside your mind. Gotta say though that what might help more is being able to talk to someone who listens and cares. At least I've found that crying, though relieving, does end up increasing the sadness and numbness inside. All the best to you Shanm2. And thank you for your post, it was relieving for me to know that others share this phenomenon as well.
