Advice?

It’s been a while since I posted and I have some questions and concerns about a few things. I’ve been taking Effexor now for the last 5 months and it seems to be working better than what I had taken before. However, I am wondering if there is another medication I can take in combination with Effexor to help me. I have periods where I am very drained or unmotivated and not focused at all on work. I have the worst time trying to get things done because I have trouble concentrating and lose track of what I’m doing often. I have issues with following through and lack of motivation, which at times can cause me to be stressed, irritated or disinterested in things that normally I would be interested in.

I have been told about adding Wellbutrin could be beneficial. Has anybody tried Effexor in combination with Wellbutrin? Did it work for you? What was your experience?

Has anybody tried anything else in combination with Effexor and found it to be beneficial for similar symptoms I’ve been experiencing?

Wellbutrin has been the main medication for me throughout my depression and it has been very helpful to me. I have always really trusted my psychiatrist. Yours would be very interested in helping you find a better solution. We each have our own experiences, but they have the education to know what type of medicine is more effective for different symptoms. Trust them.

My psychiatrist currently has me on a combination of Effexor and Mirtazapine. You can read about this combo quite a bit online, it was coined "California Rocket Fuel" by a psychiatrist at some point and apparently the two meds "compliment each other well". I've been on Mirtazapine for about two months and only Effexor for one week so I can't speak yet on whether or not the combo is going to work out for me... just know it's something others have had some success with...
