I do realize how difficult and frustrating it can be when we are trying to lose weight. I have been working on managing my weight for years. For the last six months I have been exercising regularly and watching my diet and although I have not lost a lot of weight (lost 6 pounds) I stuck with it and I do feel much better mentally and my clothes fit a whole lot better. I have found a lot of helpful information at healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh.... I'm sure this forum will be of help to you. Let me know what you think.

Hi the best way is to take the word 'diet' out of your vocabulary and replace it with 'healthy eating'. Diets only work if you stay on them for life whereas healthy eating you can stay on for good. x

I had a similar problem years ago. I personally got sick of keeping up with and tracking diets and did research. I learned that rather than starve yourself, limit your options or count calories, find healthy alternatives, learn to cook with real food and exercise (don’t need gym). I slowly cut meat, dairy and super sugary foods out of my life (I still eat fish) and lost 12 lbs just doing that.

You want to never diet again but instead develop healthy eating habits that last a lifetime. What you eat is 80% of staying healthy/slim. Exercise is good but your choice of foods is much more important. For starters, you want to eliminate as much sugar as you can in your diet... And little or no soda. Stay away from white flour, fake sugar (aspartame, sucralose, etc.) fried food and processed food (frozen dinners, packaged food, anything with more than 5 ingredients). Eat lots of whole foods. Watch these films, they changed my life: Food Matters, Forks Over Knives, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, Food Inc. Good luck!
