A footnote on Sjogren's Syndrome. While researching it yesterday, I came across another auto immune syndroms called Sicca's Syndrome. This syndrome actually causes the dry mouth, dry eyes behind Sjogren's. Listen carefully as I try hard to explain this. Those who have Sjogren's have Sicca too. It is literally what causes the dryness associated with Sjogren's. You can have Sicca without Sjogren's, however. Virtually no docotor will ever diagnose you with Sicca. Very few will diagnose you with Sjogren's either as they are either woefully inexperienced with it or biased against diagnosing you with it to start with. It takes years to get a proper diagnoses for Sjogren's unles you go to a medical center that specializes in it. That's our health care care system for you. Two more quick notes about this: I may or may not have it, although I'm suffering severe dryness right now. 2 things that seem to help are Vit C, 500mgs 3X daily & a 10oz bottle of Minute Maid OJ with breakfast everyday. When I don't add these 2 things I start feeling worse right away....I would also like to address whoever's taking Statins for cholesterol. Statistically speaking, Statins reduce your chance of having a heart attack from high cholesterol ever so slightly (3 to 4%). It should be a lot more but, there's a reason why it's not that effective. Statins severely reduce a vitamin like substance called CoQ10 in your body. Also called Ubiquinol, meaning 'everywhere', CoQ10 is important to many functions throughout your body. It's most important function is to strengthen your heart and help create energy. It's also critical for proper gum health. Without enough CoQ10, a lot of things, including allergies, will worsen. So, if you're taking statins, I recommend 150 to 200 mgs of CoQ10 per day in divided doses to replenish this important nutrient in your body. As usual, it's your call and I encourage you to do your own research. I wish you happiness, peace. good physical and mental health as usual....

I am in the US, however, some time ago, on my first visit to a new internist I was asked to have the test for Sjogren syndrome. Some doctors are just better than others.
I am also in the US. I agree some doctors are better than others. I'm gonna try some new ones myself in Nov.. The panel of 4 doctors includes 2 from India. I'm hoping they will be a lot more open minded. In addition to my dryness, I've had increasing muscle pain and stiffness over the last few days. Yet, I'm sleeping well and otherwise feel pretty sharp. Though once in a while I notice my attention span, memory & other higher functions slipping. It usually reestablishes itself with my prescription vitamins + other vitamins I take + food. I'm gonna ask them about it, though. Thanks for your response and your previous responses. I wish you lots of happiness, peace & love.
