I suffered with this too. I started driving just around my neighborhood and short distances. I would drive longer distances with someone or someone following me. Now I’m driving on the freeway again alone. I listened to Claire Weekes on audio as I would drive. I would stay in the right lane in case I needed to pull over and drive when I knew there was not a lot of traffic. Practice just as if you were 16 and learning to drive. It takes a while but you can make progress.

I used to drive but gave up my license because of this eighteen years ago. Wish I hadn’t. I am screwed now. Keep fighting. Don’t give in. It sucks not having indendence.

Hi I hate driving too. I'm old and just learned to drive. I had to take anti heart palpitation meds just to take the test because the panic was so bad. I also only want to go short distances, or roads I've been on before. I actually feel better in traffic because everyone has to go so slow there's no way I could get hurt. My only advice is too keep pushing yourself a teeny bit past your comfort zone. Its scary but even a little victory feels really good. I also took hylands nerve tonic pills while driving, they work fast and they are sold in regular stores.

Thanks you guys this helps alot its good to know that im not the only one who suffers/suffered from this till i started my research to see if this was a common type of anxiety and thanks for the link appreciate every bit of advice god bless you all!!🙏
