I take Prozac and I do find it helpful in that I’m not as tired and don’t sleep a lot and have a little bit more motivation but you definitely have to give it at least a month or two before that happens and at least try it for about six months or so before changing it or upping it with your doctor

My doctor want to up it to 40 mg in a month I don’t want to feel more anxious or depressed and lightheaded

That is definitely the marijuana I think cuz it’s known to make you paranoid and two days is not gonna make any changes with Prozac so I highly recommend that you stop smoking weed and just give Prozac a try for a few months, I’m still on it it’s worked for me for years

Do u still take Prozac because am thinking about stopping it and am disappointed be am use to self medicating myself and this time I wanted to get medication a try

Two days is not enough time for an antidepressant to work or not work. It takes at least 4-6weeks .

So being a little anxious and depressed and lightheaded is not the medication

Maybe is the weed

When you take several drugs at a time you don't know which one is doing what.

Not true. Get the facts straight before you target.

Don't police me, I can give advice just like everyone else. Attack me again and get reported.

Don’t police you? You are giving MEDICAL advice when you aren’t even a medical professional. Antidepressants target a part of the brain, and then weed targets a different part, they target the Benzering. Like benzodiazepines do. So don’t you dare question it.

I’m on Zoloft and I smoke everyday. If you don’t feel paranoid when you’re sober it’s not the weed. Let the Prozac sink in (usually 3-6 weeks) then bring it up to your doctor. It’s been a year since I’ve started antidepressants and I’m finally on the perfect dosage and brand. It took me a year to feel normal again. With that being said my doc knows I smoke on the regular. People are so quick to blame weed but that’s probably not your issue.

Am not blaming weed I like to smoke weed I have a medical marijuana card I was just wondering because everything worries me I will keep trying it and try not to think to hard about the Prozac

Hello Tamka39,

I too it will take Prozac 40mg. (Have been on it for about 40 years now and found that it is the only antidepressant that I've found that actually helps my depression, and I have tried tons of them throughout the years).

Like the others have said it will take at least 2 weeks to get into your system, and then another 2-4 weeks after that to reach a therapeutic level (this is the same with All antidepressants) before you really start seeing the true benefits of it. Prozac is a good antidepressant for Most people, but not all. Like the others have said 2 days is not really long enough to tell if it will be the right one for you yet.

But If you feel the Prozac is causing you more, or increased issues, or making things worse instead of better, during it's initial phase, don't hesitate to call your doctor and tell them and ask them if they can possible keep you on a lower dosage of 20mg instead, and then once you get use to the 20 mg increase you to the 40mg if needed, or perhaps you 2 can decide together if Prozac is going to be the right medication for you at all, but again 2 days is really too soon to tell. Also never just abruptly stop any medication without first contacting your doctor for approval to do so because that too can cause you even more problems.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you is probably the weed

That's possible too. Does the doctor know you are using weed too? If not be sure to let them know that.

No

Different things both prescribed and over the counter can interact with other prescription and over the counter medications and can cause them to react in your body differently than they should or usually do. So I'd suggest telling your doctor that you are using it (best thing to do), or of it's not legal where you're at or whatever and you don't want to inform the doctor, stop using the weed and see if the symptoms you are having subside, if so you'll know it was the weed or a combination of the weed and the Prozac together.

Tamka39. It takes roughly 3 to 6 weeks for your body to adjust to the medication. Prozac will not make you "happy". It helps you to be able to "handle" life better. Hope this helps

My head feels full of something, and i feel abit drowsy. I was meant to be going out for a meal, but had to cancel due to over whelming anxiety.
