Prozac

I started taking Prozac and it’s really helped with decreasing ruminations and the feeling of being on edge. But the thoughts are still there. It’s just easier for me not to pay them much attention. Anyone else on Prozac wanna share their experience?

How long have you been taking it? It took mine a good 6-8 weeks to work. And even then, the doctor had to increase the dose and also add Abilify. Now, everyone is different so you'll need to discuss it with your MD. But my experience so far has been positive.

Give it some more time. It started showing early results for me too.

My Dr. put me on Prozac, Years ago...I loved it it worked for me, just took a few week to build up. I also went to therapy and learnt some new ways of thinking that also helped. Sorry to say after 10 years I build up a tolerance and was put on Zoloft which also was very good. I have a friend who has been on Prozac over 30 years and does well with it. I wish you well be patient with yourself, let us know if we can be of further help....Sending Love/Hugs, Peace......Sprinkle 1....

Now that I’m on it, and feeling better, I’m having anxiety about them eventually wanting to wean it off.will they allow me to stay on it long term? Is that safe?

Why are the thoughts in there in the first place? I will probably play devil's advocate if I say that Prozac is masking a deeper emotional wound that needs to be addressed. There is probably a deeply-rooted trauma or pain that needs to be looked into.

Herbal therapy, reiki, acupuncture or naturopathic treatment with bachflower remedies can be wonderful for releasing hidden pain and suffering.

Sending much love <3

Did you read my email? I told you I had been on Prozac for 10 years, I have a friend who has been on it for 30 + years. Going to therapy helped me sort out some of my unhealthy ways of thinking. There is a lot you can do to help yourself, Stop worrying is a first step, worry only makes us ill and raises our blood pressure. Read some good self help books, keep busy and exercise, eat a healthy diet and love yourself....Sprinkle 1....

Hi. I took Prozac for 2 years for ADD, dysthymia, and OCD. It worked great until it didn't.

I’ve been on Prozac for about two months now but haven’t noticed a difference. I’m only taking 20mg’s but my phychiatrist doesn’t want to increase it. I also take 1 mg Xanax XR in the morning.

What dosage are you taking if you don’t mind me asking?
