Hi I just joined today. I have panic disorder, agoraphobia, ocd and depression. Has anyone had an issue getting a therapist due to no insurance and cost constraints? Could really use some advice. The ones I reached out to are expensive even with a sliding scale. Many thanks!

I have, absolutely. I was lucky enough to have an Employee Assistance Program with my job that will cover 8 sessions entirely and I have my first one today. Before that, I did some research though, and the second best bet sounded like local universities. Maybe that's an option?

Also, maybe try the NAMI helpline mentioned in #2 here:

yes:( i’m in the same situation right now. the good therapists don’t accept insurance and are so expensive so i went to a local clinic who accepted my insurance and they were awful, not going back there. i feel like the only thing to do is just keep researching and calling people and explaining your situation because there are places who will help adjust to what you need. good luck, and hope u find someone:)
