Hi Natasha_1994 Oh I feel your pain. Don't worry about not being able to open your

mouth side enough. The dentists have a little soft rubber wedge that will hold your mouth open w/o any force. That's the least of your worries. You need to have that tooth looked at asap and have them relieve your pain. Wish you well. xx

Let your dentist know when you go in you’re anxious about being able to open your mouth wide enough. Fear at the dentist is very common and your dentist should be able to put whatever your worries are at ease, and also know to treat you gently.

You could ask the receptionist when you call up that you are anxious about visiting and is there one of the dentists that she could recommend that you see that has the most experience of dealing with anxiety.

Don’t delay, your tooth needs looking at so give a ring ASAP before it gets worse, it’ll be ok - let us know how it goes.

As others say, see the dentist ASAP. There are also emergency dentists available for weekends.

Natasha, I had toothache once, and the gums became swollen, ans inflamed. The swelling was so bad that my jaw looked lopsided. And the pain was so bad I wanted to cry. It turned out to an abscess. The tooth had to be pulled. I am wondering if you have an abscess as well?

The only thing to do at this point is go to a dentist, get some antibiotics, and have the tooth pulled.

Have you heard of coconut oil pulls? Coconut oil is used to swish through the teeth for about 10 minutes. longer, if you can manage it. It needs to be done after each tooth brushing, or at least twice a day. Coconut oil has properties that keep bacteria from growing in the mouth. I make my own coconut oil toothpaste. It doesn't foam the way commercial toothpastes do, but it sure keeps the mouth clean.

Good luck with your tooth, dear. I know how extremely painful that is.
