Angry all the time

I need some friendly advice on how to control/get rid of my anger. I’m just so angry ALL the time. Writing in a journal just makes me angrier, it doesn’t release my anger. Exercise helps my depression, but not my anger. I hold on to things. Example, my boyfriend of 12 years was texting a female coworker 11 years ago...still mad. Why?? How do you guys let go? It’s not healthy to be this angry.

The anger is a trick your mind plays to keep you “safe” so you aren’t hurt again. It’s a survival mechanism and you feed it unconsciously by letting it run it’s mouth. Time to tell it to take a hike and then you can get busy being happy. You don’t have to torture yourself anymore. For you, it’s anger. For others, it may be guilt or sadness or regret. Whatever it is, the mind will run in negative circles of unrelenting bad thoughts UNTIL you say..... “STOP!!!” These thoughts don’t serve me! Maybe they did once but they’ve taken over my mind and my life. First, recognize the repetitive thoughts. Then, see that they’ve become “habit tunnels” in the brain, like well-worn trails. Time to carve out new ones. So fill you mind with empowering, positive, creative ideas and techniques to free yourself. Eckhart Tolle can help you find peace. The Power of Now is a masterpiece. There are many more. His audio lectures, one called “through the open door” are medicine for the soul. Find peace in nature. Take magnesium and GABA and b vitamins to calm your mind. Take an Epsom salt bath with lavender. Both soothe anxiety. Actively and consciously seek peace. You’re on your way.

Yes, I have sooo much trouble sleeping! I have to be up at 4 to get ready for work. It’s so exhausting!

Have you tried melatonin or magnesium powder? If you don’t sleep your mind doesn’t shut down fully and then it can’t metabolize toxins in the brain and they build up. Get off your computer and/or phone and get some zzzzzzzzzzz’s my wonderful friend. The blue light activates your brain. Red light is more soothing. Also, Mack’s earplugs are so great, they’re wax-like and cut off all sound so you can have good dreams and not get woken up.

Thank you! I have tried melatonin and mag without any success. My GP gave me 10 Ambien last week and they’re not working either. Not at all. This has been going on for 9 months and I’m exasperated!

Hey just a note about melatonin, only use it for jet lag. Just read article, your brain thinks it’s making enough when you take it too much. Steer clear of the melatonin...

😘

There’s so much freedom in letting go! You must try it! Holding on to anger and resentments affects body and soul...not worth the risk to me. Anger blocks me off from everything good. I must let go! You can do it! Hoping for your peace of mind...🌷🙂🌷

some anger is okay....but not all the time. Are you in therapy to find out what the root of your anger is?....mine was because I bottled up child abuse and had no one to talk to, or any responsible person in my life I could trust.
