So today I started eating healthier and how much I should according to my MyFitnessPal app. It’s been so hard. All I want to eat is a big iced honey bun. My boyfriend is proud of me but it’s so difficult not to give in.

Eating better is SO HARD
i wouldn’t use an app. It is only going to drive you crazy. Start out slow. Try eating one piece of fruit a day. Then after a week add other healthier foods. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Changing eating habits takes time.
Try to stay on your current path while not being too strict with it at first. You’re trying to help yourself feel better and that’s a great thing!! You’re doing good! Use distraction when you think of honey buns! The longer you do it, the easier it becomes. Anything worthwhile usually isn’t easy. Way to go!!
Hi! I read this post and I really feel obligated to respond because this is so important especially when it comes to how food impacts your moods, how you feel physically and emotionally... I recently graduated and I am about to complete a dietetic internship to be a dietitian so based on what I have learned I know it is hard to eat better and try to change your eating or lifestyle habits.
The myfitnesspal app is a useful tool for calculating calories and keeping up with your daily diet progress but it might make you feel more restricted. Its so important that the calories you are consuming are also giving your body what it needs. Such as the nutrients found in your every day snacks... You may be eating your bag of baked lays chips because of its amount of calories but its nutrients aren't comparable to those in other foods like in an apple dipped with peanut butter.
I know that sounds super complex but our world is full of misconceptions concerning weight loss, so if you ever need any advice, please feel free to message me!
Just thought I’d mention if you have depression please avoid gluten. It messes with thyroid function which causes a domino effect of hormonal collapse. You feel so crummy and so you want gluten or sugar. Gluten destroys thyroid and sugar feeds leaky gut and inflammation and crowds out the good bacteria in your gut. When you want that honey bun go have some CALM gummies, it’s magnesium to coat your nerve endings and get you to chillax. I always have a big pot of cooled tumeric tea and detox tea and matcha to keep me hydrated because dehydration disguises itself as hunger and if you’re gonna hydrate why not take some anti inflammatory tea. Also, fermented foods can help with those cravings while promoting good bacteria in the gut which according to the newest science is where much of our immune system is located. And it’s tied to the brain, more than we ever knew. So what you eat is CRUCIAL and you can build new habits, retrain the brain’s habit tunnels. Re train your brain. Easier said than done but if you see the connection to the way you think and your quality of life you get motivated real quick.
Just popping by to say good for you! It takes courage to make lifestyle changes so maximum respect for taking that step.
