this poem touched my heart!

this girl would be blind.

Not blind by the meaning,

But blind in the heart.

Blinded by darkness,

Blinded by dark.

She walks around lifeless,

Her heart beating but dead.

A walking corpse

She is lost inside her head.

Things have no meaning,

At least not anymore.

She was not how she was,

How she was once before.

She is one of the living

But one of the dead.

A part of her is missing.

She hangs on by a thread.

She hung her head low,

Took one final bow.

She stepped off the edge

Saying one final vow.

"I will not change who I am.

As hard as any of you try,

This is me giving up,

This is one last goodbye."

I like this poem, I write poetry too. But I always say we fight to be here unconsciously so we need to fight to stay here consciously. ❤️

This is very powerful and very sad....many posts here lately have expressed great despair...and there has been much empathy from other members for those on the edge of that abyss of darkness.....I know that place....and I had to get help to keep from going down that one way rabbit hole....'the ripple' effect is something many never even think about because we are so darkly wrapped up....yes....we feel dead inside....while life seems to go on around us....but there is life within us still....even if it's just a tiny glow, it's what gets us writing here about it....

Please keep sharing...that was a beautiful poem....and it does express what many feel.

But there is hope, as small of a flicker as it may be....fan the flame...get help....find your passion, and set the world on fire with it.....through art, writing, photography. Music, public service, caring for others....express yourself...find you, it's a journey....and a bumpy ride....but I'm still here today writing this, because I made the choice to live.....It was and still are on that long climb out of that hole...but worth it, I survived.

amazing!! wow!!! there is a small glow of hope in ourselves ..it is us who have let it glow and make it glow more and more..trying is the best option we have..if we succeed in it..soon we will be able to survive..our heart will beat faster and our mind will tell us to wake up and start a new day of our new life..after our survival it will be a turning a new leaf of ours with hope, love and happiness and it will not b surrounded with darkness, sorrow as it used to be before what we used to feel before..before our survival of depression and anxiety or anything that used to make us to loose hope in ourselves.!

Exactly!....wonderful analogy...and yes...it is a roller coaster of emotions...and we have to do our best to get out of those low points when they happen. We can though, and some days it's very hard work....but now I know it will pass...and the thought of missing out on what I have now gives me gratitude everyday that I now have it to remember always.
