Does anyone experience anxiety attacks at the drs office when they take your vitals? I feel like I am the only one who has this issue. This is new to me as it's only happend this past few visits. My blood pressure spike really quick and then is normal by the time I leave.

Hi.

You are definitely not alone with this one.

I get really anxious in the waiting room and my blood pressure is usually up. Sometimes I feel dreadful by the time I get into see the gp. 😩

Thank you...Im glad I'm not alone. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow and I already can feel my anxiety wanting to act up....I just wish this would go away

Ah I know we work ourselves up...

Remember the thought of things is always worse than actually doing them...we build them up in our head..not sure if you ever do meditation, especially if you find when you try to sleep this evening you may ruminate about the drs. I listen to some of Michael sealeys YouTube meditations ..my mind still wanders but I keep bringing it back and eventually I sleep...sleep is so important as we feel so much worse with out it..

I have had a conversation with my gp about how bad I feel at appointments and it helped a little..it’s the waiting around for me that seems to be the worse..as the gps are so busy they are usually running late, it can’t be helped but a nightmare to us 😩

You are certainly not alone and your gp will understand too

It is difficult for us, for sure

I feel better knowing I’m not alone .

Hope it goes ok tomorrow and it won’t be as bad as you think I bet,

I haven’t experience this myself like I just get a little nervous when I am waiting for the vitals to come up. But my mom and uncle do this when ever they go to the doctor so I do know about it. I think the best way you could help yourself is to tell yourself your will be fine and everything will turn out all right. Because I know all to well if I start worrying about something I make it 10 times worse than it really is. I hope that helps!!

Hi ashes

No you aren't the only one. I try to not go to doctors cause they terrify me. This past December I was having breathing problems and it just got worse and worse. It started affecting my work. Finally after putting it off for weeks I went to urgent care and told me I had bronchitis and it was good I went. They gave me antibiotics to take and after 2 weeks I didn't feel any better went again and got a strong antibiotic and 3 steroid shots. I was out of work for almost 3 months. It was the first time I was ever that sick. Now when ever I get breathing problems I tend to freak out. And think it's coming back.

I still won't go to doctors right away even though sometimes I probably should. Case and point what I just went through.

Anyway sorry when the doctor was taking my vitals my blood pressure heart rate were sky high. She was freaked by it. I tried calming myself down and she came back and took it again and it was better. When I first see those white coats I tend to get anxious and freak myself out. But once I settle in tell myself everything will be okay I tend to relaxes a little bit.

So I know that feeling.

I hope you can find a way to relaxes during those visits.
