I’ve had a very stressful day. It’s been so bad that I’m now drunk. Don’t worry I’m at home. I’m having conflicting feelings about everything.

I'm sorry you were so stressed. Please be careful. Maybe, going to bed would be a good idea.

That’s why I got drunk. To kind of forget my bad day. I will do my best

I have confidence you will. You had the good sense to be home.

Thanks

You are welcome. Sweet dreams. Have a glass of water ready by your bed. It helps to hydrate the day after drinking.

Did you have therapy today?

Cat26538 profile image
Cat26538 in reply toMarshall64

Yes. It was terrible

I don't know if this applies to your situation, but we sometimes have to identify and face the pain and then go through it before we get better. My sister is going through that process now.

My therapist yelled at me like I’m her f***ing child. It pissed me off to no end

I never heard of a therapist yelling at a patient (especially one wearing a Batman hat). 😊

Lol. I told her I watch YouTube before I go to sleep and since I’ve had trouble sleeping she yelled at me to stay off my damn phone

She sounds like a charming lady. I guess she wants you off electronics before you sleep so it won't overstimulate your brain. There is also the spectrum of light that delays your body's release of its own melatonin.

The only reason I’ve had trouble sleeping is because I’m extremely stressed out about court next week. I might end up in prison. I have been charged with theft and forgery. I have 2 felonies against me

Hope i am not being intrusive, but is it your first time?

If you are in the US, you may get probation with a suspended imposition of sentence.

I’m in Illinois.

Do you have a lawyer?

Cat26538 profile image
Cat26538 in reply toMarshall64

Yes I do. He’s a great lawyer. He says I won’t go to prison but I kind of don’t believe him.

I know somebody that had something similar and it was her first time. She got a five year SIS and probation. Due to "good behavior", she only had to do 2 1/2 years of probation and they terminated the SIS.

Cat26538 profile image
Cat26538 in reply toMarshall64

What is sis

Marshall64 profile image
Marshall64 in reply toCat26538

Suspended Imposition of Sentence. Your charges are felonies, but since it is your first time, they suspend these charges during your probation term. If you are good through the whole term, they drop the felony charges. If you screw up during this time, they will then take you back to court to face the felony charges.

They do it this way in Missouri.

Don't stress about it. Put it in your lawyer's hand and in God's hand.

I’m ok. I hate my therapist. I did drink on my meds. I’m fine. No hangover.

Sometimes I think I’m being yelled at when I’m just being told the truth. It sounds louder and scolding to me. 😁 it’s not, I have to consciously tell myself so because I perceive things as being harsher than they really are. Also...I’m two years sober. Consider it my friend, life is hard enough without the added depressant, we can drive ourselves mad with it. If not, hugs. Hope you feel better.

Hug back! reading your post brought me an insight of how I always took feedback to be a bad thing because I magnified it because of the way I am used to doing, thanks to depression. Your post helped me put it in perspective. this will sure help me cope. thanks so much
