Hi, most medicine for anti-depression take at least two weeks to show it is doing what you need. Try to stick it out, I know it is awful, but it may work, I was on Zoloft for 10 years - it worked for me. Unfortunately I built up a tolerance now we are playing pill roulette. There are a lot of pills to choose from, so if this does not work ask your Dr, to put you on something else, be sure and tell him/her the problem you are having. That is all I can think of for now, come back and we will try to help you. Sending you Love, patience, Big Hugs and peace. Sprinkle 1.......

Give it some more time. Most of the time it takes a month for the medication to really start working and to see the results from it. Meanwhile, tell your doctor that you still are not feeling where you should be so they can be aware of what is happening. The good thing is that there are lots of different medications to try it is just a matter of finding the right one. Hang in there!

Meanwhile, you can try some cognitive therapies to assist the medicine (like talk therapy or meditation).

You have to give it time. I was on sertraline for a full 4 weeks before the side effects went away and the medicine started working. It just takes a while for your body to adjust. Just keep telling yourself that the way you are feeling is due to the medicine. The heightened anxiety, tiredness, nausea, etc is caused by the medicine. You’ve made it this far, please try to hang in there and give it another 2-3 weeks to kick in. You will feel so much better when it does.

It took me a solid month and some tweaking of the dosage before I started to feel the benefits of my medication. Prior to, I went through a few different meds. It does take time but it’s well worth it once you find the right one. Please continue to chat with us especially when you’re not feeling well. Stay connected with people as much as you may not want to. Hang in there. You will get better.
