I was just reading that article on resilience posted on this site. One of the items mentioned was Viktor Frankl, who wrote about the importance of a sense of purpose in ‘Man’s Search For Meaning’.
I recommend this book to anyone who's depressed. Frankl was a concentration camp survivor who was separated from his wife, yet even in that situation he found hope and a sense of purpose. It's not a sappy, bunnies and rainbows book, but intelligent and inspiring.
It's also short and an easy read, which is an advantage for those of us who don't feel like reading even one sentence!
Here's to all of us who struggle with finding a purpose in life. May we live long and prosper! (-;

Windy i agree with you 100%. I own that book and I can't tell you how many times I go through it, specially on tough days. For me is a "one of a kind" type of book, for all the reasons you mentioned and more.
Personally, I think it is amazing how he is so aware of the umbearable situation he was put in but still seems to always finds hope.
I remember him talking about seeing a bird and finding joy in that moment, as if it was his wife's spirit. He was an amazing human being. The book offers hope that anything can be overcome. I'm glad you like it, too!
