Just a quote

I was reading a new book “Man’s search for meaning” by Viktor Frankl, just the other day and came across a quote that’s stuck with me. I always like to underline or put sticky notes on pages and passages of books that have that effect on me. And this was one of the first few.

It really made me stop to think about what I’m doing and my goals. I obviously had to look it up online for a meaning or breakdown of it, but I’m so grateful that I did because I couldn’t have felt more warmed by a quote. Regardless of our circumstances, we always want to get better and find our way. I don’t know if this will touch anyone else as it did for me, but this is why I love reading. You always find a book that fills your mind with a spark and it only ignites a fire of new perspectives and motivations.

Quote:

The Angels are lost in perpetual contemplation of an infinite glory.

Meaning:

We are constantly in search of our mental peace.

Having my college classes online now has given me more time to myself and more time to read. Such a joy for me

I’ve found that those of us who “absolutely need to read” usually have books or downloads we haven’t gotten to yet. I read Mans Search a long, long time ago but I’m going to read it again. What with all the time on our hands staying home we older people should re-read them again with the passage of time and our real life experiences.

Hello Scatteredtulips, I have been reading Edith Eger's book called "The Choice" and the very last page I read before I went to sleep last night mentions Viktor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning" so I was astonished to read your post about him this morning. What an extraordinary co-incidence! I thought I would have to read his book too. Edith Eger was sent to Auschwitz as a very young girl and somehow managed to stay alive but the whole experience affected her for the rest of her life and she searched for answers too. I just thought I must tell you as it seems such an amazing co-incidence.

That really is such a sign!! And I would absolutely recommend his book, talks of the psychological aspects of prisoners and how they all changed over time. Obviously can’t relate to their sufferings but the explanations and many quotes are touching
