I’m new here, i need somebody to talk too about why my hands, feet and armpit sweats even i’m alone and in public is it just me or somebody else have this too? i’m confused i don’t know what to do except to learn too much in youtube about awareness of my breath, meditation and trying to be calm and relax that i seem to can’t do, i’m tired of this feelings, i work at a bank and my sweaty hands and feet scares me that people will find out. Most of the time i think i’m not thinking about anything but i’m still sweating even alone am i odd i don’t know.

I don’t know. I used to sweat profusely at work so that I would need to change shirts half way through the day. And I knew it was anxiety. Symptoms have changed since. Do you think your sweating is due to anxiety? So sorry you are going through this. I really hope you can find a solution. Wish you the very best!

thanks for your response Starrlight, the armpit sweat is not that crazy i can at least cover but my feet i have to bring extra socks to change and my hands is the worst i have to make sure i’m wearing cotton shirt to wipe my hands so no one will notice, thinking back i think it is anxiety it started 3 years ago i think when one of my previous co-worker manager confronted me and said “why did u do that” infront of my face seriously alone when i made a mistake since then i have continuously sweat worse, i’m just try to cope up the sweating the best i can at work, i even had a situation that i got so tired of it i had a panic attack and went to the hospital to find out i only had a panic attack causing anxiety. It seems like i don’t want to admit it to myself that i have this condition because i want to heal, i want to keep my job because i enjoy it when i can laugh and talk to others without sweating.

((((((Neal))))))) I can understand why it can be hard to admit anxiety is bothering but it doesn’t have to steal away anything from you and it doesn’t need to stay. Deep breathing and positive thinking can really help or when panic begins to be thinking of something ridiculously funny if you can get yourself to that place in the mind.

Hi Nela27 and Welcome to the Anxiety Support forum. Actually profuse sweating is quite common and normal in the anxious person. The more we worry about it, the more it continues. It's the body's way in cooling down from the "fight or flight" response. It is not dangerous although embarrassing to you. Several things you can do to reduce the severity of the "sweats" is in not trying to hope it doesn't happen which then only allows you to focus in on the symptom. Try not clenching your hands when you feel them getting moist. Skin to skin contact just makes it worse. Wear non constrictive clothing, lightweight articles that allow your skin to breathe. And unfortunately, I must say that properly deep breathing can and will release the level of adrenaline coursing your body when this happens.

As with everything, practice makes perfect. It's not just about using deep breathing when we are already in a bind but having it become a part of our daily regimen in controlling our emotions. Working in the bank, meeting the public where accuracy is imperative is enough to produce the adrenaline hormone to climb. By using proper deep breathing before work in the morning, before going to sleep at night as well as using it plus meditation at lunchtime or afternoon break time can help keep your mind/body connection calmer. Going for a quick 10 min walk at lunchtime can also help in using up that extra adrenaline and the fight or flight response.

Just know that you are not odd and that once your anxiety is reduced *whether you feel you are or not, the symptoms will start to dissipate. xx

My hand and feet do not sweat but I get this sweaty "feeling" in my face. My body also feels clammy.. I was wondering if it was due to anxiety bc this is new to me

it’s possible because anxiety stricks anytime for me like how i experience no matter what i’m doing even everything is calm and it’s not hot around me it’s still winter cold i sweat for no reason even now i’m just home there is no reason to sweat but it’s happening.
