Have you tried to exercise? The meds I'm on don't have that side effect, so i'm lucky! Also I'm not much into exercising! Could you maybe talk to your Dr. to change meds?

Hi you have only gained 4lbs which over Christmas isn't bad. It might not be the ad's but if it is then your only option is to change them or stop them. To be honest I would put my mental health above my weight every time but that's up to you. x

Hi thankyou for your reply! I suppose so I really hope it isn’t the tablets because they have improved me really well and I’d hate to have to stop them because of weight gain. I am really paranoid about gaining weight so I’d have to stop them if I was to gain any more xx

I have just done a calculation of your BMI using the NHS calculator. It said that your current weight shows 19.3. As the range for a healthy BMI is 18.5 to 25 you are not at all overweight and is anything are veering on the lean side.

It gives the weight range for your age and height etc. as between 7 stone 6 lbs and 10 stone 2 lbs.

I wonder if you have an eating disorder if you think you are overweight? x

Thanks for searching that for me I had no idea about all that. I just really don’t want to be any heavier than this, I don’t think I have an eating disorder as I have always ate a good amount however have only just started gaining weight x

This is the link I used. I didn't know your age but put in 18 as you sound very young. I know you might not agree with this but it's much better to be healthy than worrying too much about your weight. x

Good guess :D x

I think sometimes you need to weigh the good versus the bad. It is easier to work on your weight than your mental health. 95% of meds could contribute to weight gain they say but also poor mental health in general. Less activity and poor diet choices due to being depressed or anxious I know for me is a problem. So either way. 4 pounds throughout holidays is not bad. One of the best treatments for mental health challenges is exercise and diet. Which is good for everything. You can start with small changes that are easy to accomplish and work your way up. Make it fun and good also. I like turning on some good tunes and dancing around my house like nobody’s watching. I’m not good so it’s important no one watches. Lol Take walks in beautiful places or take the stairs instead of the elevator. So many things. Order something a little healthier when eating out. I don’t know your habits so I am not implying you don’t. Just a suggestion. You need to choose which one you can more easily manage. Weight or anxiety and depression. Recognizing it could be a problem is good. Now you can actively work on it. I hope you find the answers you need.

Give it Time. It doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve gained so much. Mine was super fast and now I’ve started losing. You’ll get there! If it becomes too difficult speak to your doctor about it. There may be other options.

Thankyou for your reply, I’m now 7 stone 10 so hopefully I’m not gaining anymore. I would like to be around 7 stone 8 but can’t see that happening! X

I’m on Zoloft 100 mg and I’ve lost 5 lbs since like the beginning of the year. All I did was switch up my diet and stopped eating processed food and take out. I also stopped eating any type of bread. If you need any help on nutrition, feel free to ask your primary care doctor, not the psychiatrist. Your pcp can order some tests to check your metabolism.

Sugary drinks such as sodas and juices are also unhealthy. It’s better to eat a few oranges if you need vitamin c. I usually eat mango, apples, mandarin oranges, chicken, salmon, brown or white rice, kale salad, oatmeal, low-fat yogurt or kefir ect on a daily basis.

That’s good! I’m going to try being more healthy, I hope the eight gain isn’t to do with the meds
