Hello Everyone I just came to vent and possible get advice and suggestions. For the past two years I thought I was doing a good job of losing weight but I have gained 40 pounds in the past two years and this time I do not know how I will lose it this time. I pretty much got lucky two years ago and a trauma event pushed me hard to losing weight. Now I don't have that sane eagerness since that event has been mostly fixed. So I thought this one exercise program was really helping and making me feel good. I guess it did not work. But I am pretty ashamed of myself for losing 40 pounds and gaining it back. So I really feel like a joke and hopeless in losing weight. I am pretty much close to 300 pounds.

Major Weight Trouble leading to depression
You know my friend, as unsettling and discouraging gaining weight can be,
it is always in your best interest to lose weight slowly. Sometimes we need
professional help, not drugs but mentoring from a dietician to put us back on
the right path.
Keep a positive attitude in going forward. Remember that there is always
a remedy out there if not Plan A then Plan B. Don't get discouraged please.
I care xx
What exercise program were you doing? I started walking/hiking last summer, and I've been really startled by how strong it has made me.
This was the program. youtu.be/sRDmKd5G8m4?si=ip4...
I do youtube videos sometimes. I found that it's easier for me stay consistent with the walking, hiking, and swimming. I hope you'll be able to find some motivation again.
I hope so also. This is the first time in a long where I just don't care. So I hope I can snapped out of this.
If it helps, you can report your progress on here, and I'll cheer you on. I'll also post any exercises I do. Yesterday, I walked to the store and got 5,800 steps. But I also carried two full grocery bags. I really regretted not taking the car 😁 while coming home, but I was glad I took the walk.
Thank you so much. That sounds like a plan. That is how I lost the weight the first time was by walking everyday. But this time I have a different work schedule and the best I can do is 4-5 times a week of long distance walking.
Hello brother, I get what you say. Losing weight after a gaining a lot of pounds is pretty difficult, and constantly feels like an uphill battle without end.
I'd recommend starting slow, making little changes to your habits so you don't get discouraged. Do you drink soda? If you do, start by cutting down on it or any other sugary drink / food a day at a time, until you can switch to sugar-free products and drinks. I've controlled my cravings with lime juice, freshly squeezed, no added sugar; it's kind of a trick-your-brain thing, but definitely works for me. While doing that, try going for a walk everyday. I'm up to 30 minutes a day and it feels awesome. I've lost 10 pounds in 4 months, which doesn't seem like a great deal, but it's still a lot of weight off my shoulders.
Remember always that the point isn't losing weight, that's just a side prize; the real goal is gaining confidence in yourself and improving your overall health. Best of luck to you, have a good week.
