Hey bri ! I'm new here also joined for support and to learn some new ways to cope. Keeping your mind busy and occupied helps. This sounds clinche but read some good mystery books or try to find a new hobby that can maybe even bring you some happiness. Also for some people including myself, medicine helps it does. It's not a cure all no but it can make it easier to control things .
HI - i too am new here today and totally get where you are coming from - i have currently have CBT which is beginning to help - it hasnt stopped the bad thoughts and feelings but at least i can look at them a bit more objectively and realise what has caused them ie a skewed way thinking
