my toe

i’m scared one side of my toe (big toe next to the next smaller toe) is swollen and black/blue/purple . i touch it with something and it bleeds . it’s definitely not like a grown toe nail i checked , hurts for a blanket to even touch it when i sleep at night . hurts to even touch the back/bitten if it , the part that i walk on . should i see my doctor ?

Yay kw41716, It could be a lot of things but sounds like a Wicklow aka whitlow, an infection on finger or toe.

Well there are some that say it's related to the herpes virus but I'm not a medical professional. I had one on my finger once, bloody painful! Back in the day the way to treat them was with a paste of magnesium sulphate to draw out the infection but I'm guessing that's all changed now? You should see your doc to put your mind at rest.

I dropped a coffee cup on my toe and have the same symptoms and its the same toe ..I think its a fractured or broken toe you usually have to make sure you clean it and tape it to other toe that's pretty much what Dr would do ...

Its probably just ingrown toe nail not herpes

Are you diabetic? Sounds like infection maybe staff. If diabetic could be the is dying. Nothing to mess around with .I'm not sure when your going to Dr but watch for a red line going up leg toward torso if you see this go to er asap.

are they similar to stretch marks on my sides or legs ? they never said i was diabetic though

i went to the doctor and she didn’t even look at my toe , the first thing she said to me was ingrown nail . but how do you know if you won’t look at it ?
