so on tuesday , jan 2nd , of course it had snowed and was very icy , my first day back to work for my school district and i fell . went to the orthopedic doctor that friday . my arm/wrist was so swollen and bruised up he couldn’t see the part of my bone that was hurting . we have no clue if it’s broken or not . he wrapped it up and told me if it still hurts in 2 weeks please come back . it is now jan 10th , and still in pain along with what is now a hard knot type spot where it has been hurting . i plan to call the doctor next week to see if i should or can get back in to get it checked out !

Oh my! That looks like one awful bruise! Is that what it looks like right now? I know bruises can take some time to heal, especially if they are deep tissue, but I'm very glad you'll be going back to the doctor to have it checked out. I hope you'll be able to get in to see them very soon! I do hope nothing is broken. Winter sucks! Especially when we keep getting rain in my area, then it all turns to ice. Ugh! Keep us posted on what happens when you get to the doctor! <3

yes that picture was this morning after my first shift ! it looked worse a couples days after the fall and this is now what it looks like a week later . i got to look at the x ray that was taken at the doctors office , from the edge of my bone to the outside of my arm it look like it was a good 2-4 inches , that’s how much swelling there was 😬 hopefully when i go back that swelling amount has come down some and the bruise won’t cover the bone part that they need to see

The best for your recovery. That must be painful. I know from a long ago accident that injuries can take time to heal. Sorry that happened.

If you can move your fingers and turn a door knob, doubt if it's broken. Think the ortho would have had a mri done if he suspected it was. So that's good news! Muscle and other soft tissue injuries really do hurt for quite a while.....so I appreciate what you are dealing with and wish you well soon. I have a balance type issue sometimes and I have learned to fall quite well, (lol) and know I'm not going to like the time it takes for my bruises to heal. Best wishes for a recovery soon.

Could you move your fingers and turn a door knob? This happened to me years ago from a fall where my neck was injured and the only signs were the pain in my upper arm and that I did not have the control or strength in my hand to turn a door knob. A disc was pressed so hard against my spinal cord from the fall that a discectomy and fusion were required in my neck, and my leg was also beginning not to move. I would have never thought my neck had been involved. Best wishes for a reasonable recovery.
