Thinking about increasing or changing my SSRI to something stronger...
I'm trying to figure out the pros vs cons...
At the moment I am taking 100mg of Sertraline. I am definitely better that I was 5 months ago- panic attacks have calmed down massively to me being able to just about deal with them whereas before I was just a complete mess. I am still feeling hopeless , depressed, I see more reasons that it would be better if I were not around and don't see what the point in my life is except struggle as nobody really needs me. I am still having sleeping problems, loss of appetite, uncontrollable drowsiness ( I think its down to the painkillers I have been put on following my operation) , trust issues, anxiety and paranoia.
I've tried therapy for over 6 months and it made me much, much worse. I'm not the talking type if I'm honest. I've gone back to Ballet, working hard at work (I find it difficult at work thanks to being socially inept) trying to keep myself occupied and active but I still feel like I am spiralling down and down and down.
This is why I am considering upping my dose of Sertraline or going onto something stronger.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Take care of yourselves.

I don’t think is a good idea to increase or change your medication before talking to your doctor.
I know how frustrating it is dealing with panic attacks and anxiety.
My self have been dealing with panic and depression and anxiety for more than 15 years
I recommend personally taking you medicine as recommended by your doctor and..just keep looking around for some alternatives such as the internet.
There you will find tons of videos on how to deal with panic and anxiety and depression.if you have access to a computer go to “YouTube”and type words like. How to deal with panic or, anxiety or depression.you will find all kinds of videos related to your questions ok?
Thank-you for your kind response. I have discussed with my doctor maybe changing the SSRI I'm taking as after a little while I feel it stops working for me... I will look on YouTube for some advice videos, that's a good idea. I'm sorry you have had to go through this also, its like hell is living in your body and mind. Stay safe and take care.
Take Pacobusta's advice about having a medication review with your doctor.
The medication review should include all medication currently taken not just the antidepressants. The reviewer needs to know if you take anything else in the way of supplements and vitamins.
It's interesting to read that you thought a talking therapy made you feel worse. Usually therapy is recommended to go with medication
