I'm a 68 year old San Francisco taxicab driver who has recently realized--by extensive reading and by therapy--that I have had social anxiety disorder and avoidant personality disorder my entire life. When I was 3 years old my father decided that he didn't want to be a father and left. My mother raised 6 kids by herself. I would like to say that it was " fun and games " but the reality was that it was " pain and suffering ". I've always found that prayer helps. I've recently found that the " faster EFT " videos on YouTube also help. I recommend both of these.

Hi 22224444,
Welcome to the forum. We are a very mixed bunch, the young and the more mature, residents in various countries and many different lived experiences of mental health. You are sure to fit in
I hear what you are saying but your mum sounds amazing to have raised 6 children by herself. Ok it can't have been easy for any of you but what a strong woman she is (was). x
Thank you for the message lilaclil. I do try to practice gratefulness because if we are not grateful for our circumstances then we are a victim of our circumstances. If my mother was not cold/unloving then I may not have turned to God in my difficult circumstances.😊
Glad you are here!
Hello, and welcome. Hope this site helps you as much as it does me.
Hello Im very new too, just joined a few days ago and 55 years old and after reading a few posts I feel so at home with people I can relate to. I feel like I have lost most of my life and dont want to lose any more years as I get older, do you feel like this?
Hi Lynella,
Thankyou for your message. Due to having an old computer as well as a lack of computer skills I found the website somewhat difficult to deal with. It was very sweet of you to write. I haven't been on the site for two weeks which is why I haven't gotten back to you. Recently, in my search for "answers" I found "inner-bonding" at Inner-Bonding.com. The message of Loving ourselves rather than judging or abandoning ourselves seems to resonate with me. I pray that you find your true path.----Patrick
What does EFT stand for? I’m 55 and have been extremely shy my entire life, so I started drinking and drugging in order to socialize and feel human, but that isn’t who I really am. My psychiatrist said I’m bipolar.
Pray that you’re learning much about yourself. This is a new venue for me. I’m gleaning a lot by reading the site’s post.
Try nachatroom.org there are awesome people who have recovered from all kinds of drugs.Just visit the room for two three days and you will yourself decide as to whether to join them or not.
