Hi my name is Joe, I'm 26 and have been struggling with anxiety and depression for a very long time. I have a 5yr old son who I care for deeply and want to provide for as a father. My situation is difficult, I'm in a destructive relationship, I've lost contact with my close friends, and have a disfuntunal family who distance themselves from eachother.
I've looked into treatment before but was to scared and embarrassed about my feelings that I never went. Trying to find ways to relieve stress I found this site and thought maybe I can find people with similar experiences and problems to talk with.
Thank you for listening.

I find the best way to relieve stress is to find something you have fun doing I ride my bike on trails play video games or craft something. Maybe there is something you could do with your son. But a destructive relationship is not good for you or your son and can be the cause of a lot of stress.
First off, thanks for the reply. Growing up I found the gaming, music, and movies are my stress relievers. I love all 3. Me and my son both love gaming and he's also got me into doing Legos so its something we do together a lot. My relationship is difficult to describe, she is the mother of my son but treats me as a friend first and not her partner. She's full of secrets and not enough answers.
Congratulations on stepping up for your son. You should be proud of that. I found exercise helps me relieve stress. Don’t be embarrassed about your feelings. It’s a sign of intelligence and maturity to ask for help when we need it.
Hi welcome, what kind of treatment have you looked into? I do both therapy and take medication. I see things changing for me in a positive way. Treatment does help.
