Anxiety, fear, and worry while on vacation!!

So we are heading on vacation and my fears of heights tend to create anxious moments while driving. I hate driving over bridges and mountainous terrain!! This vacation we are avoiding the mountains as my anxiety gets the best of me! Once we are at our destination I will be Ok but once again I will avoid activities that involves heights! Any suggestions??

This is a sincere reply. People who are nervous about MRI are prescribed Xanax before the exam, and eye night sleepers are provided. I agree with the Xanax but would substitute the night eye slippers with huge dark sunglasses. Or stay up all night before you travel, take the Xanax, put on night sleepers over you eyes, grab the back seat and sleep when you're on the road. (You're not the driver, are you?)

In the long run, maybe you might consider desensitive therapy to help you with your height anxiety.

I have the same fear. Taking dramamine usually helps me in multiple ways. It sedates me which calms my nerves and anxiety. It also helps relieve any nausea and helps me adjust to changes in elevation. Crack the window open for fresh air and breathe it in while looking at the horizon, not down.
