i need help.
Parents can be dismissive and my own mom is like that with me. You say you have no way to get out to a doctor. Is that because you're in high school, or don't have a car or health insurance?
i'm not old enough to drive and it's just me and my mom.
Ahhh ok Are you in school? Have you considered talking to a guidance counselor, a teacher you respect and trust, or even the school nurse? Perhaps a few good conversations with someone can help you determine what to do. As a teen I always felt lonely and depressed, and my mom would say all teens are depressed ect.
I don't know your situation, it could be growing up and changing and hormones suck! Or maybe you are on to something and have true depression.
My advice would be to seek advice from a third party that could help speak to your mom about your concerns.
My mom did that to me too. I first told her i was feeling depressed at 16 i think, she just said i was a teenager and id get over it basically. It really made me afraid to open up after that. It was about 10 years before i finally broke down and forced myself to get therapy. It was the best thing i ever did and need to get back to it. So yes, why cant you get to a doctor?
Have you heard of kids help phone? They offer 24/7 counselling, on-line or on the phone; they're private and non-judgmental. kidshelpphone.ca They don't have call display, they don't trace calls and it's totally anonymous. It's not just for young kids; they provide services to teens. Their phone number is 800-668-6868. I'm sure your Mom loves you deeply. She may not want to admit that there is a problem because it would scare her too much. Please reach out for some help whether your Mom understands or not. One day, she will.
We all need help!! Start with you what is you need help with? Write it down look at it and say how can I make this better? Use a journal compare the difference of how you spend your day. There are a lot of people willing to help. Look within yourself that is where your problem is maybe it is the way you handle a situation or just let life roll by you with out being a part of it. Seek help from friends ,family, God or a higher power. Speak out be heard even if it is in front of your mirror. I found writing down my thoughts is very helpful find a charity and see what you can do to help for example I sew for charity. See what you can do to get out in the world sometime I am proud of myself for going outside and looking the mailbox and bring in the trash cans I can then say yes I got out take small trips alone or with a pet even if it is only 1-2 miles that is a start. I hope to see you at the finish line. Your new friend.
