Hang in there is so cliche but so true. I so know what your going through I'm in the same situation. I hope it helps to know your not alone cuz it sure helped me. π
Hi I was dismissed by my last employer through illness as well and have been unable to get another job. I well understand the loss of self esteem and the feeling of not being useful to anyone. I solved this by doing voluntary work. Ok it doesn't pay but I get all the other benefits like working again and my self esteem has gone right back up again.
Maybe this is an option for you for the time being?
thankyou yes maybe I need work experience or voluntary help to keep me sane.i feel deeply regret leaving last job because like you I was so ill .thinking bout three years ago I was in similar situation and this job were the only ones to take me on and give me a chance.i wish I hadn't have left I miss the feelings of working xthe children and its too late at the moment to ask for job back because they are fully staffed and my dad thought he was helping had a long deep conversation with my old line manager
Hi if you love working with children and especially if you have experience and/or qualifications, then I should imagine there are loads of places that would bite your hand off if you offered to help them free! This might even lead to paid employment.
Sorry you are suffering. This too will pass. When I'm stuck I find that helping others gets me unstuck. Maybe volunteering somewhere can help you get unstuck and possibly lead to a job. It's a good social outlet and looks good on a resume too. Exceecise is helpful too. It can be simple like jogging in place or climbing stairs. Just get the blood flowing. These are merely suggestions that work for me. . Here is a motivational video shared by a fellow traveler. It gave me a boost. I'll pas it on. Good luck
You'll get there. I haven't worked for three years and have just started working a few hours a week. Hard for people to understand unless they have been in a similar situation. Find something to do where you feel you have a purpose and are needed. You might find volunteering at something completely out of your comfort zone will be a positive to your resume. You'll get there...really, otherwise you wouldn't have asked for help.
