I don't know what to do anymore none of the antidepressants I've tried have worked, therapy hasn't gone well, and I have no support or people that care. I can't keep going. This is all to much. Please somebody help me. I just can't take it anymore.

I'm afraid to take medicine, I think it raises suicide thoughts. I want to try therapy? Why your therapy did not work? I thought that was suppose to help?

you are afraid of what you are not willing to try? Why? I take medication and have never had suicide thoughts on any to this day.

you really think it is rational to reject an opportunity to improve your situation choosing instead yo nature a fear that is not based on any real experiences on your part? 🤔

medicine is temporary fix and it will mess up your liver at some point. It's better to avoid it and rather fix things by counseling and therapy

it may be temporary but some of us have been taking medicine for many years and know more about it than you who have not taken it. At my last check up, my doctor gave me a clean bill of health... My liver is in great shape and so is my heart.

some people have been on medication for decades and still have healthy livers, so where do you get this conclusion.of yours that medicine destroys your kidney?

also if medication, temporary as it may be, helps improve your quality of life and allows you experience life as you really should, and desire to, why do you make it out as a bad thing?

good if its working out.

You're not alone. I'm sorry that you've not had a better support system but that's also why I joined this group. Sometimes it seems like everything is too heavy but I'm trying to remember that it is a feeling and it will change at some point. Talking it out here is good and I'm here to tell you that you matter, you're important and please know that you do have support in this place.

can you please list the antidepressants you have tried and the dosages? I am curious

I don't remember what ones I tried. There were about six different ones all low dose. I ended up being hypomanic for about 3 or 4 months. Looking back I don't remember much from those few months. My mind just goes blank.

Well, sometimes you may need to find you a neuropsychiatrist who truly understands your condition to help you through the treatment process.

Look for doctors who have actually treated bipolar patients successfully and get them to help you with the right medications for your case.

it may all seem too much and it sometimes is...but you should not just throw in the towel and accept a life of misery instead. No one deserves that.

I have been in therapy and meds for anxiety and depression since I was in my 20's. I am now 65 and just had a physical and I am in good shape!

I have had my UPS and downs, over the years. Been through 3 different therapists and 2 Psychiatrists (they were only used to monitor meds).

I have also been on different meds for anxiety (Valium, Xanax and finally Klonopin). Klonopin worked the best and is not physically addictive. Anything can be emotionally addictive.

I have also been on many different anti-depressants. Zoloft worked best for me but tended to "poop-out" at times. So, I first took a geno-type test and my Psychiatrist sent it out and gave me their findings. The best anti-depressants, for my DNA (or gene type) were all relatively new with no generic forms. Then, within in a few weeks of this outcome, I found out that Prisiq just came out with a generic! So, I started taking that, after gradually going off the Zoloft, and it seems to be working!

Also, going to Support Groups (there are many free ones), have helped me tremendously over the years!

Let me know if you need more info. Believe me, at times I have BEEN where you are!

Don't give up! Be gentle and patient with yourself. If all you can manage right now, is to keep coming here, then start with.that.

Someone is always here to listen and try to help.

Take Care and Hugs,

MJ
