Welcome! I to have GAD along with panic disorder, don't be nervous to get help! You need to go ahead and do it and hopefully start feeling better quickly. Sometimes I think the longer people wait the longer it takes to cope/recover from it. Need anyone to talk to just let me know I'd be happy too!

Hi Elizabeth. You didn't mention why you are nervous about getting help, so here are some general suggestions. Try to be positive about getting help; be optimistic. It could be the start of of your freedom from anxiety. No one is going to tell you you're crazy (or other bad news). A medical doctor might request blood work to rule out thyroid problems. Mental health professionals will most likely tell you anxiety is very curable. Medication might be suggested, and you can discuss the types and the pros and cons of each. Therapy can range from simply talking and informing you about the causes and cures for anxiety to cognitive behavioral therapy which is usually a graceful and slow hierarchy of facing fears or anxious situations.

I would say you have everything to gain and only your anxiety to lose. :-)

hello, I also have GAD, panic attacks and major depression. I have not had any episodes for over a month since I got back on medication though.

" why choose to suffer needlessly?" .. Dr Oz

we all takes medications in one form or another all day long. From the food we eat to the water we drink, to the air we breath to keep out lungs refreshed to the oxygen and iron that helps keep our blood vessels running and living.

I was worried about the list of side-effects when going back on medication this time. But so far, the only one I have noticed is weight loss which only means I have to remember to eat as opposed to eating all the time to calm myself when I had to tackle GAD, panic attacks, and depression all throughout the course of each of my day.

Elizabeth York,

If you have bad thoughts again, you can call either of these numbers and get a trained counselor: 1.800.273.8255 and 1.800.784.2433. You might have a good talk, you never know.
