I wouldn't think so. But perhaps you are the exception? We each are individual and react to drugs individually. Whatever you feel should be very brief.

According to medscape.com you have effexor withdrawal symptoms. But they should be brief in my opinion because you had so little time on the drug. I'm amazed that you have them at all. You have taught me something I didn't know and I'm very sorry that you are experiencing this misery.

Here is the exact quote: "If the drug has been administered for longer than 1 week, the dose should be tapered over 7 to 10 days to prevent a withdrawal syndrome (headache, nausea, dizziness, insomnia, and nervousness)." Your doctor did reduce, not take completely away, your effexor, so why you have these symptoms is a mystery. It appears that your body wants a dose between your top effexor dose and the one you're on now...if that's even possible.

I have been on Effexor 12 years it pooped out 6 years ago and I was able to go on lexapro for 9 months then back to Effexor 5 years later this happened again but lexapro didn't work . This all started in oct so I'm so sick of it. Jan 4 I went back on my 37.5 Effexor which I took before poop out it took 9 days to work but only for about 11 days then started feeling anxiety all over again . I went up to 50 felt a difference right away just not completely so after 6 days dr put me up to 62.5 side effects all 8 days finally in to phyciatrist he said my dr didn't give 50 a long enough try go back to 50 which I always took at night - he said take 25 with supper and 25 in am that was horrid all day so the next 2 nights I have been taking it at night but I'm having these withdrawals . At 3 am I did split 25 in 4 so I took 6.25 I kinda felt like it helped. I am so tired of this and I wonder if the Effexor will work again or I just need to change. I have a call in to phyciatrist nurse but not heard back. I'm not sure if he understood how bad I feel I think he thought part of my worrying about it made it worse but you have to feel good to not worry about it. Plus I know you can't only rely on meds but in the last 12 years they have worked and I want something to work. Sorry so long

Did you finally find something else that works for you? I have been on Effexor for 5 years now but if I don't take Remeron with it I wake up at 3 am. I just can't take Remeron anymore because makes me constantly hungry

I started Effexor 8 weeks ago at 37.5, after 2 weeks went to 75, then 2 weeks 112.5, then after 3 weeks 150. 150 for 1 week I experienced a spike in anxiety and rumination.. .I'm still going through it. I went down to 112.5 the past 2 days and am still majorly suffering the anxiety. Hoping it'll calm down. I need to get past this.
